The safety concept of the Sprinter provides comprehensive active and passive occupant protection for many types of accidents. Exterior occupant protection — It starts with the front end structure which has been designed to channel front impact forces onto the frame side member. This diverts a considerable amount of the impact energy away from the occupants.

Rear impact protection is provided by the sturdy end cross member of the frame which also acts as an underride guard. Interior occupant protection — Full-size driver and passenger air bags are standard on the Sprinter. Three-point seat belts for the driver and passengers (front and back) provide optimum protection for all occupants.

Optional height-adjustable headrests provide an added amount of safety. Of course, all Sprinters come with four-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS) and Acceleration Skid Control (ASR). An expansive windshield and high driving position offer exceptional visibility to help you avoid trouble in the first place.

A state-of-the-art alarm system is available to ensure your van stays safe when you’re not around.

* The load adaptive Electronic Stability Program (ESP) takes the payload into account to reduce the risk of skidding and/or rollover in critical situations.
